Hyatt Regency Vancouver hotel is seeking a dedicated, hardworking, customer service oriented professional to join as Event Sales Manager
The Event Sales Manager’s primary focus is responding to in-bound leads as well as soliciting and prospecting new and existing accounts to support business development overall.
Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate past experience in a hotel environment or similar, as well as robust business acumen, strong communication and client relationship skills combined with a self-directed approach.
Duties include overall account management, creation of sales proposals and presentations, negotiation & contracting and hosting clients for hotel sites and entertainment purposes as well as sales calls and attending Client events.
Candidates are to have a thorough understanding of the local social and corporate markets, as well as the hotels competitive set for special events. Our Event Sales Manager will require a strong desire and focus on exceeding hotel events revenue goals and find opportunities to drive business to other hotel business units.
The successful candidate will also be able to implement Hyatt’s brand strategy in to all areas of the sales process and will be successful in driving customer loyalty and retention by delivering service excellence through the experiences they create for each client.

A minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably with a convention hotel/hospitality brand.
A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment.
Candidates should be extremely detail oriented and organized
Working closely with the Director of Sales & Marketing and Director of Events to develop and implement strategies to maximize business levels.
Building and maintaining strong client relations and develop accounts to increase market share across all revenue streams – locally, nationally and internationally.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintain them over time.
Interacts with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels, ability to action as required.
Innately service oriented, creative and Innovative; with the ability to develop and evolve ideas, approaches and relationships
Adaptable team player and practices inclusion in their everyday lives.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Opera, and Envision Sales or similar preferred.
