Summary
The (Receptionist 2) Customer Support Representative will report to the Office Manager. The individual will be required to perform an array of administrative duties including secretarial and receptionist duties. Reception includes answering membership inquiries efficiently and if you cannot assist directly, forwarding their queries to the appropriate departments.
Additional responsibilities include opening/closing the cash and debit machine, selling merchandise and taking dues payments from Members.
The Customer Support Representative is also accountable for stocking all forms for Members as well as receiving forms for processing by the union. Other duties, relevant to the position, shall be assigned as required.

Job Duties
Ø Answer Member inquiries in person and by phone
Ø Direct all incoming calls to the appropriate department / take messages when appropriate
Ø Receive Member dues payments at counter and input member dues received in the mail
Ø Open/close/balance cash and debit machine
Ø Register Members for Special Events
Ø Sale of merchandise to Members
Ø Data entry of address changes, Member updates and reinstatements
Ø Member letters confirming employment information
Ø Arrange courier pick-ups
Ø Scan and file documents for member files
Ø Type attendance list of unit meetings for all three (3) units
Ø Scan, fax and type documents for Members, Business Reps and Organizers when requested
Ø Backup for entering online dues
Ø Maintain a professional image and demeanor with all employees, management, members and visitors at all times
Ø Other duties, relevant to the position, shall be assigned as required
Requirements
Ø Secondary School Diploma required
Ø Office/Business Administration Certificate or Diploma an asset
Ø 2 years’ experience as a Receptionist or an Administrative Assistant, or relevant role considered an asset
Ø Strong communication and people skills
Ø Strong keyboarding / typing skills
Ø Proficient use of Microsoft Word and Excel
Ø Ability to learn other computer programs as necessary (eg. LPX for member records)
Ø Self-starter, trustworthy, highly motivated and able to work independently
Ø Work effectively with people at all levels, and is a team player
Ø Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and effectively accomplish required assignments on a timely basis
Ø Efficient and highly organized
This position will be at our Toronto location (1377 Lawrence Ave. E.), however, training will take place at our Mississauga location (1385 Orlando Drive).
Salary Information:
Level 3 per the Collective Bargaining Agreement
