IFG – International Financial Group Looking for Senior Accountant at Toronto, Ontario, Canada Full Time

Our client is looking to hire a Senior Accountant for an initial 9 months of contract with possibility of extension. The role is currently operating on a hybrid model with the office located in Toronto

Responsibilities:

• Coordinates month-end closing activities with various departments
• Prepares standard monthly financial reporting package for presentation to senior leadership and Board of Directors (e.g., financial statements and other financial analysis as required, including payroll analysis)
• Preparation of quarterly and annual IFRS financial statements and related financial statement notes
• Provide guidance and support to accounting group and other business units to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal processes, IFRS and Modified IFRS
• Provides financial data analysis and expertise to assist other departments in attaining their respective objectives relative to process and data quality improvement
• Supports the implementation of new accounting and financial reporting requirements under IFRS by modifying existing reports, models, database and other system changes
• Assists with external financial statement audits through the preparation of supporting documentation and reviewing of confidential payroll information required to the auditors
• Performs other duties as assigned

Education & Specialized Knowledge:

• CPA/CA Designation or enrolled in the program
• 5+ years of experience as a Full Cycle Accountant
• Strong technical accounting knowledge of IFRS
• Advanced level of knowledge and experience in financial modeling and management reporting
• Must have advanced excel skills
