Our client, a large international financial instituion, is currently looking to hire for a technical writer/policy writer to join their team!
The Associate, Policies & Planning will be responsible for supporting the ongoing curation, development, and management of our clients’ Canada Branch’s policies and procedures as prescribed by the Policy Governance Framework. Under supervision of the Co-Head of Accounting & Planning, the Associate will engage with subject matter experts, department management, and policy owners to develop standardized policies and procedures and update existing documentation for conformance with current documentation standards. The Associate will also provide support in maintaining the Policy Governance Framework, including maintaining the enterprise policy inventory and repository.
This position came out of a large transformation project with the bank globally. Presently, the bank is going through a shift with the policy governance framework. NY is where the regional head quarter is – they are spearheading effort to standardize the policies across NAFTA and LATM. Canada being a smaller office relies on NY to lean on for global standards. But they need someone aligned with fofr CAD Local Regulations. The Canada Bank Act, IRA, CRS there is a Compliance Writer in place but the bank needs support for the other individuals.
Looking for an individual to be able to develop policy and procedures and working with New York policy holders. This personal will work with local departments and New York counterpart. Current local policies – but as we try to reconcile New York + Canada. Being a smaller organization they need someone to come in and help with updating.
New York has asked the Toronto office to “adopt” their policies and procedures but we cant do this fully. We need someone to translate NY rules and adapt to CAD local standards.
Must Have Skills:
o Technical Writing/Policy Writing experience for a financial institution
o Experience working with US laws and adapting it to CAD regulation
o Prior experience presenting/writing drafted policy
o This individual is working with subject matter experts – working with a financial services organization or bank would be preferrable – not required
They need to be a quick learner to understand the nuances. They need to understand we are regulated by OSFI. Understand difference between local OSFI vs Federal Regulations
o Technical Writer – effective writing and communicator
They need to be dismantled to the whole organization
