Overview
The Facilities Assistant III works to ensure our buildings and grounds are safe and well-maintained. Much of this work is done by managing relationships with vendors and contractors, negotiating contracts, and ensuring that vendors deliver services in a timely and effective manner. Regularly inspecting devices, structures and systems, and the completion of a variety of maintenance duties such as furniture moves, simple electrical projects, light construction and general upkeep and maintenance of the Moncton facility.
Responsibilities
Works with outside contractors on building and equipment repairs.
Exhibit extensive experience in facility maintenance and the ability to liaise and negotiate with contractors.
Being the first point of contact for scheduling and supervising regular emergency repairs and maintenance (eg, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, painting, construction etc) and in accordance with the building codes & health and safety regulations.
Operates site equipment as needed, using hand and power tools as necessary.
May perform other activities such as assembly of Haworth cubicles equipment and assist in CAD programs and building drawings.
Responsible for managing and supporting FM systems workplace space planning.
Back up to other Facilities positions and warehouse duties when others are out or need of help Knowledge of furniture / office supplies and acquisitions will be an added plus.
Qualifications
Education:
High School degree or equivalent with “facilities management training or equivalent coursework at the college level” preferred.
Skills
Understanding of Axiom Card Access System
Understanding of Avigilon Security Camera System
Understanding of DSC sensor panel and Edwards Fire Panel
Understanding of Ascent/Compass HVAC automation program
Should be available for emergencies 24/7, if needed
Ability to deliver results with a quick response time
Should be a Member of the Health & Safety Committee
Experience
Minimum 5 years + experience in facility maintenance with knowledge and experience in HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, and Construction, and Project Management required
