What Your Day Involves

As our Inside Sales Representative you will have an opportunity to learn in a unique and rewarding industry. You will collaborate with an enthusiastic team, supported by the Company’s managers and leaders. You will work largely independently and take ownership of your role, developing its scope in line with the growth of the business.

In this role you will be responsible for inputting orders, upselling, developing new leads through outbound tactics, communicating with customers, and meeting or exceeding quarterly targets. The Inside Sales Representative will spend the majority of the role reaching out to prospective customers, responding to inbound inquiries, qualifying prospects and ensuring customers have a smooth first point of contact with InkSmith.

Responsibilities:

• Help drive InkSmith’s growth by building relationships with prospective Canadian K-12 educators and turning them into happy and successful InkSmith customers.
• Execute outbound demand generation tactics including cold calling and emailing to generate sales leads.
• Work with the Digital Marketing Manager to create and capitalize on outbound lead generation initiatives and campaigns including professional learning webinars and ads.
• Research accounts and prospects to identify decision makers as well as their technology and learning needs in order to develop well informed, targeted, and segmented outbound campaigns.
• Demonstrate a hunter mentality: maintaining a high volume of activity, including outbound calls, emails, and social selling as well as researching and identifying new sales opportunities.
• Nurture cool leads to reengage them with our organization.
• Coordinate and participate in industry conferences while representing InkSmith, with the goal of generating leads.
• Monitor and respond to InkSmith Sales inbox and website inquiries – responding to incoming customer requests for more information, quotes, identifying opportunities to upsell or create a larger impact, inputting orders, and re-directing request for tech support when necessary.
• Process Purchase Orders with accuracy and timeliness.
• Follow-up with existing InkSmith contacts and develop them into sales prospects.
• Liaise with the customer and/or buyers, communicating updates, changes, and educating them to support them in making informed purchasing decisions.
• Effectively use a CRM, such as HubSpot and Odoo, to build, qualify, and manage a 2–3-month sales pipeline, including: entering, tracking, updating, measuring, and reporting on prospect and customer information, interactions, and sales.
• Learn and understand customers’ needs and identify sales (including upselling) opportunities.
• Attend and participate in sales meetings, product seminars, trade shows and conferences to stay abreast of current trends and knowledge within the industry.
• Occasional travel will be required.

What You Bring

We understand you may not have every experience in every area we are looking for and that is okay! Attitude, willingness to learn, motivation to take self-directed initiative are equally important. Industry and product knowledge can be learned, attitude and flexibility cannot.

• 1-3 years sales or customer service experience.
• A degree or diploma in Marketing, Business or a similar area of study.
• Experience or an understanding of prospecting and building a well-qualified top-of-the-funnel within the sales pipeline.
• Experience in providing excellent customer service, especially inbound inquiries.
• Ability to identify and qualify leads and sales opportunities.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Experience working with a CRM (like Odoo or HubSpot) and Microsoft Office suite.
