Our company does two key things.
First, we invest in projects that result in carbon credits being created, such as planting a forest or building a machine that sucks CO2 from the air. By selling these credits on to individuals or businesses, we are able to generate revenue that lets us make more investments in projects that reduce or remove CO2, and we continue the cycle!
Second, we are creating a place (more specifically, an app) where individuals can go to learn about what they can do themselves to address this giant problem of climate change. We want to help individuals understand their own impact on the world, and give them a chance to support carbon offset projects. We want every individual to be carbon neutral, and we want them to get there in an engaging manner with rich content and community.
Place of Work
This role is a Hybrid role splitting time between our corporate headquarters located in Ottawa, Canada and remote work. Our team meetings are held within EST working hours.

The Opportunity
We are looking for a results-driven software tester to be responsible for designing and running tests on software usability. Reporting to the Director, R&D, the software tester will conduct tests, analyze the results, and report observations to the design team. You may also interact with clients in order to understand the requirements of the product. To be successful as a software tester, you should have a working knowledge of software and test design, the capability to run through tests, and the ability to analyze the results. Ultimately, the software tester should be result-driven, have good communication skills, and up-to-date knowledge of software programming and software test design.
Reviewing software requirements and preparing test scenarios
Executing tests on software usability
Analyzing test results on database impacts, errors or bugs, and usability
Preparing reports on all aspects related to the software testing carried out and reporting to the design team
Interacting with clients to understand product requirements
Participating in design reviews and providing input on requirements, product design, and potential problems
The experience we’re looking for
A bachelor’s degree (or college diploma) in computer science, computer engineer or related field
Up-to-date knowledge of software test design and testing methodologies
Knowledge of Agile development methodologies
Working knowledge of test techniques and compatibility with various software programs
Working knowledge of programming in a mobile and web environment
Working knowledge of scripting for test automation
Familiar with TestRail
Excellent communication and critical thinking skills
