InVision is a Professional Recruitment Firm involved in Engineering, Industrial/Skilled Trades, Information Technology and Professional Services within Canada and the U.S. We have a successful track record working on both small and large recruitment projects, across North America.
Our client, is an auto component manufacturer offering solutions for Powertrain e.g. Transmission Gears & Shafts, Driveline components, Engine Gears and Power Take Off components, produced to the most exacting standards, for Passenger Cars, Commercial vehicles, Off-highway equipment and other non-automotive components. They are actively looking to hire a Quality Manager on a permanent basis.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with customers
- Work cross-functionally to lead timely resolution of quality issues
- Ensure customer and company quality requirements are met and facilitate continuous improvement
- Establish, maintain and audit implementation and effectiveness of quality management system
- Supervise inspections, testing, incoming, in-process and final product
- Ensure nonconforming products and corrective action are properly handled
- Coordinate document control activities
- Act as QS9000 Management Rep and supervise all QC personnel
- Coordinates training of personnel for QA staff and company wide on Quality related issues
- Ensures QA staff have the skills, experience, education and abilities required to perform their job
- Full responsibility for hire, fire, evaluation and discipline of QA Department
- Complete performance evaluations of QA staff
- Perform duties in a safe manner with focus on accident prevention
- Assist with other duties as assigned
- Inspire high performance of their team
EDUCATION/SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Certified Quality Auditor
- 2-3 years experience as an auditor preferred in machining shop with mill, lathe and hobbing experience
- Minimum 6 years of experience in Industry with preferably 2-3 Years in same/similar role
- Successful completion of drawing interpretation and geometric dimension and tolerance courses
- Previous supervisory experience; Excellence in leadership and talent development
- Deep competence in quality disciplines
- Cross-functional team player
- Ability to make and defend decisions
- Above average organizational skills with orientation to detail
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Work consists of production area and office setting
- May be required to work irregular or extended hours from time to time
