Job Description:

Under the general supervision of the Manager or designate, cleans, decontaminates, assembles, wraps, sterilizes and distributes simple and complex instruments, equipment, linen and supplies related to the OR and other areas of the hospital, and perform related clerical duties. Duties also involve picking of equipment for OR instrument sets and filling requests from the OR. In charge of the stores function and receives a variety of articles and performs related stores duties such as unpacking, checking, storing and distributing articles.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, Training And Experience
Grade 12, successful completion of Sterile Supply Processing course, plus one year’s recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Skills And Abilities
Knowledge of surgical and medical terminology.
Mathematical aptitude.
Ability to deal effectively with others.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Ability to operate related equipment.
Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
Ability to organize work.
