Your duties include the management of our talent administration team including; Talent Acquisition Specialist, Office Manager and our Human Resources Generalist. The team manages assistance in recruitment, oversees our offices, and the day-to-day administration of employee data. You will provide performance management, coaching and development of employees and managers on issues of basic to moderate complexity with support from senior colleagues, directors and partners on more complex issues. You will drive change as it relates to the personal growth of talent, training, and establishment of an overall people strategy.

Actively participate in Business or Operations Management Team meetings and proactively provide advice regarding the staff context for business decisions
Challenge management teams to reflect and act as a catalyst for change
Translate business challenges and opportunities into focused HR initiatives and solutions
Coaching and advising business managers on HR issues
Provide input to business plans to align with HR strategies, regulatory environment and best practices overlaying a future focus
Manage, support, mentor your direct reports including: the Talent Acquisition Specialist, Office Manager and our Human Resources Generalist
Provide expert advice on people challenges, talent management, organizational and individual performance and change
Work with management to resolve any conflicts in employee/manager relationships
Prepare employees for assignments by establishing and conducting orientation and training programs
Ensure planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee work results by training managers to coach and discipline employees; scheduling management conferences with employees; hearing and resolving employee grievances; counselling employees and supervisors
Monitor results and track metrics of the delivered HR programs, and work with Partners to facilitate changes and improvements as needed
Support and document annual performance evaluation & administration
Cultivate effective relationships with department heads to understand their business goals and to identify and implement solutions that support organizational strategies
Accountable for maintaining the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions
Maintain management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures
Maintain organization of staff by counselling managers on performance issues and candidate selection; conducting and analyzing exit interviews; recommending changes
Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and provincial requirements; conducting investigations; maintaining records
Administer the LMIA related job postings in conjunction with the Talent Acquisition Specialist
Accountable for Payroll changes (new hires, interns, benefit deductions, promotions, bounties etc.)
Manage the work permit process for foreign hires from start to finish with legal support as required (e.g. Service Canada, Ministry of Labour, Immigration)
Prepare budgets for training & development, health & wellness, health benefits, and social events
Be the face of HR for the business
Be Prepared to discuss things like:
Strong leadership, coaching, facilitation skills
Minimum of 10 years of experience providing support to people initiatives with at least 5 years managing people
Understanding of VISAs, PR, Temporary Foreign Working Programs, LMIAs, & Global Talent Stream.
Understanding of HR governance, legislation, and regulatory environment in order to identify issues, build programs and appropriately consult managers and employees
Demonstrated business acumen and consultative skills to work in partnership with leaders to define their talent needs and to develop new innovative approaches and HR programs
Problem solving skills, an ability to determine root causes of complex issues and arrive at sound HR/Business solutions
