Duties/Responsibilities:

We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join our growing and dynamic Finance team. Reporting to the Senior Accountant your main responsibilities will be but are not limited to:

• Prepare month end journal entries and reconciliations and assist in financial statement preparation
• Assist with the year-end audit process including preparation of working paper and analysis
• Perform daily store, e-commerce, and credit card merchant reconciliations to ensure accurate and timely processing of transactions
• Prepare and manage monthly depreciation schedules for various cost centers.
• Reconciliation of bank and GL accounts
• GST and PST remittances
• Preparing ad hoc financial reports
• Perform other duties as assigned

Skills/Experience/Knowledge preferred:

• 3+ years related experience, preferably in retail accounting
• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
• Proficient Microsoft Excel skills (XLOOKUP, SUMIF, PIVOT TABLES etc)
• Experience with NetSuite
• Detail oriented and ability to meet strict deadlines
• Completion bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• Experience or knowledge in the retail industry (apparel and footwear) is considered an asset
• French speaking is considered an asset
