As a graduate engineer registered with the OIQ, you will report to the VP Engineering and work closely with the Senior Director of Engineering to ensure adherence to company standards, defined by inspection initiatives, training and design of structural steel systems. Your mission will consist of a dual role, with tasks fairly divided between design and technical control, and this for diversified projects and clients with large-scale projects.
Functions in design
– Design of Cold Formed Steel Systems based on the analysis of customer needs maximizing space efficiency. A thorough understanding of the complex effects and loads induced by seismic movements is essential, as well as a mastery of tools such as AutoCAD, RISA 3D, and other FEA analysis software.
– Technical Validation: Check and validate the technical drawings of storage systems, ensure their accuracy and compliance with current standards. Certify the documents with your professional engineer seal.
– Technical Support: Advise internal teams, project managers, customers, and consultants in the event of problems related to design, manufacturing and assembly throughout the project.
– Research & Development: Contribute to special skill enhancement initiatives and engineering projects.
Functions in technical control
– On-site inspections: Lead and perform technical inspections of storage structures in various industrial environments, advise on necessary improvements in accordance with industry standards.
– Design with AutoCAD: Master 2D drawings illustrating warehouse systems, while ensuring the accuracy and integrity needed for engineering validation.
– Technical Analysis: Review and analyze technical drawings, perform preliminary analyzes and estimate the load capacity of existing systems.
– Repair Specifications: Diagnose, evaluate and recommend solutions to repair damaged structures in accordance with industry standards.
– In-depth Technical Support: Advise various teams on issues related to the safety, operation and maintenance of storage structures, in collaboration with other engineers.
Required qualities :
– BAC in Civil Engineering specialized in structures.
– Minimum 5 years of proven experience in cold-formed steel design (reference CSA S136).
– Familiarity with work safety rules (CNESST reference).
– Ability to perform structural analyzes and suggest improvements.
– Excellent writing skills, with the ability to formulate clear recommendations.
– Professionalism, attention to detail, customer oriented.
– Versatility, passion for excellence, constructive attitude.
– Fluency in French, knowledge of English appreciated.

– Salary $98,000 – $130,000 depending on expertise and experience
