We are looking for an experienced Residential Property Accountant to support our growing team!
Purpose of the role
The Residential Property Accountant is responsible for supporting our Residential, Accounting and Finance Teams. Success in this role requires sharp business acumen, strong administrative, budgeting and forecasting skills. The Residential Property Accountant will prepare financial statements, and provide guidance to the Corporate and Commercial Property Accountants, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable clerks.
Reporting Relationship
This role reports directly to the Director of Accounting and Administration.
Key Accountabilities
Assisting the Residential, Accounting and Finance teams by:
· Full cycle accounting for residential portfolio;
· Codes all residential invoices;
· Analyzes revenues and expenses monthly;
· Prepares property P&L’s monthly, with commentary;
· Monthly account reconciliations for residential GL’s / properties;
· Condo filings;
· AR review and bad debt;
· Vacancy reporting;
· Working papers for annual audit, for all residential properties; and
· Other administrative duties as required.
Expertise & Experience
· 3 -5 years of experience in full-cycle Residential accounting
· Experience with Yardi Voyager would be an asset
· Strong knowledge of basic accounting practices
· Excel at planning, organization, and ability to meet deadlines proficiently
· Proven ability to identify, evaluate and develop new ideas with supportable results
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written)
· Strong computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook)
· Property budgets and financial analysis
Other Mandatory Requirements
· Must have a reliable vehicle and maintain a valid drivers license
· Fully vaccinated against COVID-19
· Must be comfortable working 5 (Five) days a week on-site
