A Little Bit About Us:
For 80+ years, Kawartha Dairy has been proud to be a 100% Canadian-owned company, still operated by the same family that founded it in 1937. Although the company has grown tremendously from its early days, it remains headquartered in the lakeside community of Bobcaygeon, Ontario, where it was founded, near Peterborough, an hour north of the GTA.
Today Kawartha Dairy operates 10 retail stores and services a wide range of customers, from grocery stores to foodservice establishments and of course, ice cream parlours. The company also provides custom production services to other food companies, using Kawartha’s expertise in the business to produce ice cream and other specialty dairy items to the exact specifications of these firms.
Reflecting the explosive growth in the brand and the business as a whole, Kawartha Dairy has recently constructed a 54,000-square-foot Distribution Centre just south of Bobcaygeon to serve its provincial operations. Investments are also underway to modernize the production plant, our systems and our infrastructure.
As a part of our strong Kawartha Dairy Sales Team, you are responsible to maintain and target new business and manage the GTA West Region like you own it. This involves managing a call cycle within the GTA West Region, maximizing product placement and exploring opportunities within the existing client base. You will also be soliciting new business; introducing and placement of new and seasonal products and coordinating in store features and promotional activities. You will work with our local distributors to mutually build the independent retail and foodservice scooping business.

What You’ll Do:
- Manage a cost/time effective call cycle within a specific designated geographic area
- Perform ongoing analysis of all customers sales performance and present business reviews to major accounts
- Maximize product availability within the existing client base by presenting and placing applicable products with all customers.
- Analyze competitive pricing architecture and activity
- Cold calling and solicitation of new business opportunities on an ongoing basis
- Cyclical planning and co-ordination of in-store features and promotional activities to achieve sales growth
- Communicate promotional volume estimates, forecasts and all information pertinent to sales manager and other related departments such as customer service and distribution
- Responsible for the placement and maintenance of point of sale material
- Timely submission of call visits, expense and other reports as requested
- Evaluate customer viability and assist with collection of out-standing balances
- Professional approach to effective customer conflict resolution
- Attendance and participation in trade shows and special events
What you Need to Get the Job Done:
- Preference give to a University education with a focus on business/marketing
- Must have a reliable vehicle and a valid driver’s license
- Minimum of 1-3 years’ experience in the CPG industry calling on grocery, C-trade, foodservice and institutional accounts
- Work well alone and with our team and/or other business partner teams to effectively build the brand through events, promotions and unique marketing opportunities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications, and a high comfort level for learning new technological platforms
- Candidate must reside within the defined GTA WEST Region territory
