JOB TITLE:
Payroll and Benefits Assistant (Contract) – Job Reference #202210-02C
DESCRIPTION:
The Payroll Department is seeking a Payroll and Benefits Assistant to process bi-weekly and monthly payrolls under the direction of the Payroll and Benefits Manager ensuring accurate and timely generation of direct deposit information and accounting reports in support of the King’s account and fiduciary responsibilities related to payroll.
The Payroll and Benefits Assistant will:
· Collect, verify and process payroll information for all payroll bank transfers on the FIS system.
· Maintain all payroll records for audit purposes and reconcile all governmental remittances for all payrolls
· Explain and assist employees with general questions and issues related to benefits
· Reconcile payroll related accounts on a monthly basis
· Input and maintain accurate records for student contract tracking throughout the year to ensure students are paid in accordance with their contracts
· Prepare and issue Records of Employment for terminating employees in accordance with HR requests and legislation
· Prepare, reconcile, print and file T4 information for King’s with CRA ensuring accuracy and completeness of process
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (unless identified as preferred):
Effective August 27, 2022, all employees and visitors to campus are required to comply with King’s COVID-19 Vaccination Policy.
The successful candidate must have:
· A College Diploma in Payroll Administration
· At least 2 years of previous relevant experience with payroll functions
· Payroll Compliance Practitioner Certificate (PCP)
· Experience with general accounting and financial processes
· Strong interpersonal, communications and problem solving skills
· Solid judgement, outstanding organizational skills
· Exceptional attention to detail
TYPE OF JOB:
Full-Time Contract – 35 hours per week (until March 1, 2023)
EFFECTIVE DATE:
As soon as possible
SALARY RANGE:
$61,118 – $74,465 (SSG 13) per annum, dependent on experience
