Who is our client?
Our client is a professional small accounting firm which provides services such as accounting, assurance, taxation and management services for businesses across southwestern Ontario. Their accounting and tax services range from the preparation of compliance reports and tax returns to sophisticated business reorganizations and succession planning. In addition, they have extensive experience in providing assurance for not-for-profit, aboriginal and registered charitable organizations. Their management services include the preparation of business plans, financing proposals, business valuations, computer system analysis and accounting software installations.
What is our client looking for?
Our client is looking for an experienced chartered professional accounting manager to join their team. The ideal candidate will have excellent people management skills. With experience in public accounting and a strong background in assurance and/or servicing owner-managed private corporations is necessary.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Preparation of complex files and review of staff accountants work.
- Support in completing financial statements
- Completing corporate tax returns from time to time.
- Overseeing a team of staff accountants. Opportunities to mentor junior staff.
Skills and Qualifications:
- CPA designation required.
- 5+ years of experience in assurance and public accounting.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian Accounting Standards for private enterprises.
- Strong knowledge of the Income tax act
- Microsoft 360.
- Experience using Taxprep and Caseware would be considered essential.
- Highly motivated, organized and go-getter mentality.
