Overview:
The Operations Administrator participates in the development, leadership and management of the operational functions and performance for the Stoney Creek and Hamilton Slag Facilities. Primary Focus is on supporting the Stoney Creek and Hamilton sites in the administrative tasks of the plant by bringing rigor and organization to the activities of the various departments. Manage hourly payroll and employee benefits; liaise on a daily basis to escalate employee issues. Perform routine accounting tasks and participate in security initiatives in the marketplace.
Responsibilities:
Safety & Environmental:
Promote safety culture through engagement with employees, JHSC and subcontractors, implementation and management of local and regional initiatives with an objective of “zero” safety incidents.
Develop, administer and promote safety policies, processes and review procedures to ensure that sites meet or exceed all Lafarge and Regulatory guidelines.
Work with the Safety Representatives to develop and maintain a culture of safety
Assist to ensure sites meet or exceed all Lafarge and Regulatory guidelines.
Finance:
Perform Accounts Payable related duties as required.
Act as a credit card agent for members of the site.
Create purchase requisitions, PO follow-up and process invoices/bills of lading
Check that the goods or services correspond to the orders.
Prepare various monthly reports (month-end documents such as budget provision and journal entry, etc.)
Coordinate forecasting with plant management in order to provide to finance team through forecasting tools (MBP, etc)
Produce and verify inventory reports to actual inventories for audit purposes
Human Resources:
Responsible for the weekly payroll closing process.
Responsible for the retirement process (undertake communication with MyLife and follow up with the employee).
Manage the benefits program (through MyLife). Take care of administrative forms related to benefits – ex. ICD

Maintain accurate and up-to-date personnel records, including training records.
Submit requests in HR platform for changes, hiring, layoff and termination, for hourly employees.
Responsible for organizing fitness assessments for new employees (form to be completed, distribution of PPE, uniform fitting, etc.)
Production:
Develop and implement processes, strategies and tools to plan and track budgets, forecasts, maintenance, production and shipping performance to achieve targeted Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).
Promote and support daily, weekly and monthly communication process to drive group efficiencies and manage production performance.
Works with the operations team and the ECAN Manufacturing team to analyze capital needs and requests
Works closely with the Supply Chain and Distribution Staff to ensure efficient management of production costs & inventories including coordinating shipping documents and entries for billing, credits and corrections
Support the shipping and quality department to drive accurate loading, billing and product performance
Administration:
Collaborate with various departments, such as HR, finance, procurement
Process mail (external and internal).
Be in charge of office automation equipment and supplies, ensuring the proper functioning of equipment and communicating with suppliers as needed.
Assist suppliers with Avetta updates or other safety processes that are in place with contractors.
Follow-up and maintenance of the various service contracts (uniform for employees, concierge service, telephony, communication radios, site security system, etc.)
Participate in the creation and implementation of social activities with the operations as required.
Assist to ensure sites meet or exceed all Lafarge and Regulatory guidelines.
Work with Central Environmental Department to develop, implement and manage operational standards to manage activities and mitigate our environmental impact

Qualifications:
Education & Work Experience:
Minimum College diploma in Office Administration/Finance or equivalent.
A minimum five years of professional experience in a similar work environment. Desirable experience in the field of administration and accounting.
Mastery of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SAP and ability to learn other platforms with ease.
Knowledge & Skills:
Recognized skills in administration, office management and accounting.
Excellent organizational skills.
Very good interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of integrated management software systems (ERP) of financial resources. (Knowledge of SAP is a major asset)
Expertise in setting priorities and handling multiple requests.
Ability to work effectively in a team and with minimal supervision.
