Lakeside Produce Looking for Logistics Coordinator at Leamington, ON Full Time

Reporting to the Associate Director of Transportation, this role is responsible for analyzing and coordinating transportation arrangements to meet customer service expectations, in the most cost-effective manner. The Logistics Coordinator organizes inbound transportation of products from vendors to distribution centers and customers, by determining purchase order consolidation, best routes, and carriers, to optimize inbound opportunities. Success in this role requires an unwavering commitment to service excellence, efficiency, and teamwork, to enable Lakeside Produce to deliver on our promise to customers.

MAIN DUTIES

• Perform inbound load planning activities through consolidation of purchase orders, routing and selecting carriers to meet service and freight income expectations
• Book inbound distribution times, load confirmations, Cost of Sale (COS) customs documents to clear inbound produce
• Enter freight charges in Famous, create, update and track information on logistics spreadsheet and revise confirmations when required
• Provide updates on deliveries as to when the product arrived at the customer’s location and call customers to advise of late deliveries/reschedule appointment
• Enter transfers into famous to ship customers’ orders to Taylor
• Support rotation of afterhours Logistics phone duties
• Arrange for truck repairs and obtain quotes and approvals
• Assist Load Planner when required
• Maintain constant communication with Logistics Manager and other departments that require regular input.
• Communicate with cross-functional teams to solve logistics issues that could impact the customers’ expectations
• Other duties, tasks, special projects as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

• Strong knowledge of warehouse documentation, with good writing skills
• Produce experience is an asset
• Experience using Famous software
• Computer Skills
