LaPrairie Works Inc. is a diversified and growing highway and bridge maintenance and civil construction specialist. We come with over 37 years of operating experience in Western Canada, and our core business areas include highway and bridge maintenance, civil construction, bulk and heavy hauling, oilfield services, mine contracting and on-site services.
We are preparing for the summer season and are recruiting Highway Maintenance Summer Workers to join our team immediately in the Peace River Region of Alberta for a variety of challenging and rewarding projects.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ensure safe work operations and following standard operating procedures
- Ability to receive and understand directions from site foreman regarding assigned tasks
- Maintain good housekeeping practices around work sites and equipment
- Safe use of hand tools and small motorized equipment
The ideal candidate has the following:
- Class 5 Driver’s license – non-GDL
- Class 3 driver’s license is a definite asset
- Experience in equipment operations is an asset
- Ability to perform a variety of manual highway maintenance activities
- Open to flexible work schedules
- Demonstrated initiative with solid HSE fundamentals and a sound work ethic
- Familiarity with computer software e.g., Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to communicate clearly
