IMMEDIATE INTERIM OPPORTUNITY

Interim VP, Human Resources Operations

Reports: EVP Chief People Officer

Duration: 12 Months

Location: Denver (Hybrid)

Our client one of the largest Air medical service providers are looking for a dynamic individual who will be responsible for the overall direction and execution of employee relations processes and practices which support business strategy while minimizing risk to the organization. You will direct the execution of HR Operations for the business by providing guidance, direction and acts as a mentor to HR Business Partners. Also, serve as an advisor to business management and their respective teams; working to proactively support and maintain a positive employment culture.

In this role you will lead on specific complex or sensitive situations, and formal processes for manager or above levels. Decisions from this role have a significant impact on the overall success of human resources function.

Core Responsibilities:

• Develops and translates functional or divisional strategy into actionable plan
• Leads segment of department or smaller function in the planning, development, implementation, coordination and evaluation of related processes
• Plans, coordinates and evaluates complex departmental and intradepartmental projects or programs for implementation across large department or function
• Establishes policies appropriate for the function, interprets and recommends modification to company-wide policies and practices

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Oversees, manages, and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations. Implements and maintains effective grievance and disciplinary processes consistent with applicable laws and collective bargaining agreements.
• Provides guidance, input and coaching on business unit restructures, workforce planning, talent assessment, succession planning and employee development plans. Ensure timely and consistent follow through on talent calendar cadence for AMC
• · Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with HR team and appropriate business units to develop solutions and programs to meet the needs of the business, improve performance and efficiency.
• Maintains an up to date, in depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partner with Legal department as needed/required
• Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity and retention
• Provides overall HR Policy guidance and interpretation to HR team and business leaders
• Partners with Recruiting team on defining optimal recruiting process; actively participates in recruitment for certain level roles
• Navigate and guide team through times of ambiguity, defining structure and process
• Other Duties as assigned.

Additional job requirements:

• Up to 30% travel, often without notice
• Availability to support a 24X7 operation as needed based on complexity of situation

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly manages HRBP team. Carries out Supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, selecting, hiring, and training employees, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems. For Exempt Managers: Managers that carry out these responsibilities for two or more employees will have significant input in hiring and termination decisions.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; and ten or more years related progressive experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience (HR Business Partner, HR Generalist, HR Manager, HR Director, or related) and fifteen (15) years’ experiences.
• Minimum ten years’ experience in resolution of complex employee relation issues
• Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee and union relations, diversity, performance management, federal and state respective employment laws
• Master’s Degree preferred
• Experience in medical transportation services preferred
• Management experience at the tactical and semi-strategical level
