Influence Care Psychiatrist

Canada (Remote)
Utilizing a patient-centred approach, we are looking for Psychiatrists across Canada to join our Influence Care program. As part of this innovative Psychiatrist network, you will offer one time Influence Care assessments to a varied clientele with mental health disorders. Influence Care is an innovative program that improves the effectiveness of disability management for employers and employees alike. It combines best-in-class technology and clinical expertise, targeting the most common causes of absenteeism in order to accelerate employee treatment, and shorten return-to-work timeframes by providing advice on prognosis, treatment, restrictions, etc.
Reporting to the Sr. Director, Strategic Partners and Practice Excellence, the Psychiatrist will be required to rely on strong interpersonal and leadership skills to build relationships, enable effective communication with employees, Supervisors and Managers, and to provide consultation along with Influence Care Assessments. They will also partner with our internal team of psychiatrists working with Influence Care to provide feedback and coaching to enhance the program.
Employees can be absent from work for a variety of reasons: casual absence, work-related illness and/or injury, or health issues requiring the employee to be away from the work place for an extended period. Our absence management program helps employers strategically manage those absences- focusing on reducing overall costs, realizing administrative efficiency, and enhancing support for employees. All with the goal of returning employees to health and productivity. Utilizing a patient-centred approach, we are looking for Psychiatrists across Canada to join our Influence Care program. Responsibilities
Assess risk and severity of mental health disorders
Contact clientele via web conferencing to perform full assessments to understand their health condition and the factors that support or inhibit recovery
Provide any of the following interventions: more in-depth assessment, medical management interventions, utilization of specialized resources or consultations etc. if required.
Provide quality clinical services and adhere to our culture of continuous improvement of skills.
Attend occasional team network meetings and training.
Qualifications
A minimum of 5+ years of recent, relevant experience in a mental/professional health or disability management setting
Must be in good standing with both the College of Physicians and Surgeons in the province in which you are registered as well as with in good standing with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons as an active Psychiatrist
Expertise and assessment of individuals in a range of evidence-based modalities
Proven ability to handle crisis or high risk situations, such as: suicidal or homicidal thoughts, domestic violence, child protection, public protection
Able to undertake case assessments on a weekly basis to start with the flexibility to take on additional cases as business increases
Proven experience in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of clients with moderate to severe mental health disorders
Advanced skills in the development and documentation of specific interventions, as well as, evaluating service outcomes for individuals with complex co morbidities
Demonstrated competency and experience in the administration and interpretation of psychological testing, particularly those tests relevant to the assessment of cognitive abilities, personality and socio-emotional functioning
Additional course work in occupational health, rehabilitation, legislation related to disability management, helping relationship skills, mediation, human resource management, disability insurance, psychological and workplace factors in disability would be an asset
Excellent written and verbal communication, empathy, listening, interpersonal, organizational, skills
Acute sense of autonomy, professionalism, and respect for ethical principles
Excellent computer skills (ability to work with web-based video conferencing)
Willingness to participate in a criminal reference screening process
CMPA membership and/or equivalent is required
