Microbiology Manager

They are renowned for their unmatched proficiency in chemical synthesis, API production, formulation advancement, and the production of sterile injectables.
Our client is looking for a Microbiology Manager to join their team in Toronto, Ontario. As the head of the Microbiology team, the Microbiology Manager will be responsible for the overall operation of the department dynamic that plans and executes microbiology-related tasks and activities according to project scope of work, deadlines, and budget.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage testing of incoming testing of incoming raw material testing and validation, in-process materials, and finished products.
- Oversee the environmental monitoring program in Grade A, B, and C areas, including air and surface sampling, particle monitoring, and microbial analysis.
- Ensure regulatory compliance of the Canadian GMPs, FDA GMPs, Medical Device Regulations, ISO, and other related guidelines.
- Perform investigations into out-of-specification results, deviations, and incidents related to microbiological testing. Conduct a thorough root cause analysis and implement CAPAs.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of microbiology testing, environmental monitoring, and validation activities. Generate reports for internal and external stakeholders as needed.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of microbiologists and technicians. Provide guidance on best practices and ensure adherence to SOPs and regulatory guidelines.
- Participate in client calls representing the Microbiology department.
Job Requirements:
- BSc or MSc microbiology, Biology, or related field.
- 7+ years working experience in microbiology in an aseptic GMP environment, with 5+ years in increasing supervision/management position.
- Experience in a sterile facility with a deep understanding of the unique challenges and requirements associated with maintaining quality in a controlled aseptic environment with experience in a Grade A area.
- Proficiency in microbiological testing techniques, method validation, and environmental monitoring.
- Strong understanding and sound interpretation of the Canadian GMPs, FDA GMPs, Medical Device Regulations, ISO, and other related guidelines.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a focus on root-cause analysis.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities, with a proven track record of managing and developing high-performing teams.
- Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability.
