Job brief: Senior Logistics Coordinator
We are looking for a Senior Transportation Logistics Coordinator who is looking for a permanent home, to manage specific accounts and to assist with the day-to-day operations. You will be coordinating and managing all shipments on your assigned accounts and to processes documents and invoices while achieving maximum profitability and delivering first class customer service.
Job duties:
- Coordinate the flow of inbound and outbound freight while procuring freight rates and maintaining account monthly profits & targets on your assigned accounts.
- Negotiates rates with carriers and manages freight costs. Develops new and existing carrier relationships.
- Tracks, trace, and updates the customers on the status of their shipments while keeping accurate records of relevant activities.
- Collaborate and communicate with all parties involved in the shipment and receipt of products about information related to the shipment.
- Communicate with carriers and the customers to resolve any discrepancies in billing or the shipment.
- Verify and troubleshoot any issues in shipping or customs documentation including, but not limited to, PODs, BOL and carrier confirmation.
- Coordinate shipments between departments, carriers, customers, warehouses, and LCS Customs Brokers, to make sure shipments and processes are followed.
- Update, send, approve & release invoices and proof of deliveries to customers as required.
- Participates in continuous improvement and training and adheres to established policies and procedures.
- Any other duties entrusted and assigned by the Management Team.
Qualifications / Skills:
- Quick learner with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously,
- Maintain focus and adapt to a variety of challenges.
- Ability to work with a diverse team of people.
- Ability to conduct detailed procedures in a time-constrained environment.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong sense of time organization and urgency
Application Requirements:
- ** 2-3 years of freight broker trucking experience to be considered. Air/Ocean/Rail experience is an asset.***
- Experience dealing with high-volume LTL & FTL shipments.
- Basic proficiency with computers with the aptitude to learn new software quickly.
- Knowledge of MS Office Word, Excel, Google Docs. Load Link, Dat Power.
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to work in a team environment.
