MacGillivray Fuels Ltd is a family-owned fuel business that has been operating for over 60 years in Northern Nova Scotia. We supply Residential and Commercial Customers in our area with all of their fuel requirements. Our fuel delivery team delivers top-quality Furnace Oil, Propane, Diesel, Gasoline and Lubricant Products. To compliment our delivery department we also offer an in-house service department that looks after customer installations of heating systems and tanks, preventative maintenance, repairs, and also upgrades.

Role Description

MacGillivray Fuels Ltd is looking for a full-time Accountant to join our team in Antigonish, NS. This is an on-site role responsible for the day-to-day financial operations of the company, including accounts payable and receivable, bookkeeping and reconciliations, financial reporting, and tax compliance. The Accountant will work closely with the management team and be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
• Experience with accounts payable and receivable, bookkeeping and reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Proficiency in using accounting software such as Sage
• Experience with tax compliance and reporting
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
