Magine Construction Inc. Looking for Accounting Analyst at Bolton, ON Full Time

JOB SUMMARY:

The Accounting Analyst will drive the integration of accounting (accounts payable and purchasing) processes on Sage 100 Contractor ERP and other business systems for accurate data management and high availability of information to support decisions. In this role, you will perform month-end closing, analyze reports, identify discrepancies, and investigate and resolve issues that arise from accounting, purchasing, project management and/or field operations. Working with cross-functional teams, you will ensure processes and procedures are well documented and adhered to, develop reports and audit processes to assure proper record-keeping, payments and costing to accurately measure expenditures, savings and profitability.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare standardized and ad hoc reports for management ensuring data integrity and consistency
• Conduct variance analysis to ensure controls in costing, material, labour and other expenditures
• Perform monthly, quarterly and year-end closing activities and propose improvements that result in a more efficient and effective close process
• Prepare account reconciliations and resolve issues and unreconciled differences
• Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to understand workflows, document procedures and identify ways to improve
• Conduct internal audits and inventory procedures to ensure required material are available
• Support and liaise with Accountant(s) to provide required information and address any questions

Qualifications:

Education, training and experience:

• Minimum 3 years of Accounting and/or Business Analyst experience in accounting or related area
• Minimum 2 years of experience supporting information technology projects
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or related discipline, or equivalent experience
• Experience collecting and documenting business requirements for finance, accounting, and/or other business areas, establishing and implementing efficient business processes through technology solutions
• Experience leading change initiatives, gaining buy-in from staff to ensure business-performance results

Technical skills and proficiency:

• Proficiency with Microsoft Suite (Advanced Excel, Word, PowerPoint Visio) and Outlook
• Proficiency in Sage 100 Contractor or similar Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software

Knowledge and abilities:

• Proven management and organizational skills to develop program, build team and coach for performance
• Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities to analyze reports, identify discrepancies and recommend solutions
• Ability to build positive relationships with vendors and clients, and influence and negotiate fair agreements
• Excellent presentation and data visualization skills
• Strong adaptability and the capacity to work under pressure
• In-depth understanding of organizational data flow and its use in management decision-making

• Excellent communicator with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
