Sales Development Specialist, Internal Wholesaler – Retail Markets
Who are we looking for?
The successful candidate will be an integral part of a high energy sales team and required to grow sales, by proactively calling financial advisors and field staff to deliver value and sales support. The ideal candidate is a dynamic individual with a sales focus, excellent communication skills, strong work ethic and a competitive drive to succeed. They are intelligent, coachable and collaborative.
Reporting to the Manager, Inside Sales you will be responsible for proactive outbound calling to financial advisors and promoting our insurance solutions, providing proactive sales and business building ideas. You will look for ways of aligning their needs with our innovative technology, product and service solutions. This role will prove to be an excellent training platform for future field sales opportunities at Manulife.
The Sales Development Specialist, Internal Wholesaler, is accountable for:
Pro-active outbound calling to financial advisors to develop, maintain and expand current advisor relationships and build new ones. Expected to make a minimum of 60 outbound calls per day with a set target for “sales calls” and “meetings booked”. A sales call is a call that results in a sale, a meeting or another action that engages the advisor in further discussion on life insurance products (70%)
Know Your Advisor – In order to custom tailor solutions for our advisors, the SDS will attempt to gather intelligence on an advisor’s practice through a question based selling model (10%)
Optimize delivery of value-added products, service and advice while enhancing sales efforts through consultation and demonstrating the merits of Manulife products and services (10%)
Executing sales campaigns and determining who your top prospects are and creating a plan to execute on. Using to create and maintain advisor profiles and data on current and proposed activity and sharing business leads and ideas with peers. (10%)
Internal Wholesalers also have the unique opportunity to participate in a Manulife proprietary continuous training program; a dedicated program that is designed to provide the Internal Wholesaler with the necessary skills and knowledge to be promoted to an External Wholesaler position.
Qualifications
At least 2 years insurance/sales experience
The successful candidate will be required to communicate in English and French in order to support clients from various jurisdictions outside of Quebec.
Proven proactive sales success and experience cold calling
LLQP designation preferred (or in process)
College or University degree in related field or equivalent work experience
Familiarity with Salesforce, Microsoft Office, including intermediate level of experience using Excel
Ability to multi-task and pay attention to detail
Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
Well-organized, self-starter with high energy and creativity
Innovative marketing and problem-solving skills
Excels in a collaborative and challenging environment with a strong desire to win

Interagir de façon proactive avec les conseillers au quotidien, en mettant à profit ses aptitudes supérieures pour la communication, dans le but de soutenir des conseillers clés et de collaborer avec eux pour trouver des occasions de ventes.
Gérer et organiser efficacement ses tâches quotidiennes pour respecter les paramètres de productivité de manière à offrir le meilleur soutien possible aux conseillers et à la région concernée.
Traiter les demandes entrantes des conseillers (services de consultation, soutien relatif aux projets informatisés, formation et demandes sur les produits, etc.).
Tirer parti de nos outils et ressources, de nos données et de nos analyses, ainsi que de l’expertise de nos pairs et de nos experts-conseils externes pour explorer les possibilités de ventes proactives qui sont officialisées et exploitées au moyen d’une planification des affaires efficace (cycles de 60 jours).
Créer et tenir à jour des profils de conseillers et des données sur les activités actuelles et proposées, au moyen de .
Collaborer avec les collègues d’autres équipes, d’autres services et d’autres territoires pour échanger des listes de clients potentiels et des idées.

Compétences
Au moins deux années d’expérience dans le domaine de l’assurance ou des ventes.
PQPAV de préférence (ou en cours d’obtention).
Diplôme universitaire ou collégial dans un domaine connexe ou expérience professionnelle équivalente.
Connaissance de Microsoft Office – connaissances de niveau intermédiaire d’Excel, entre autres.
Capacité d’exécuter plusieurs tâches à la fois, minutie.
Entregent et grande habileté à maintenir de bonnes relations interpersonnelles.
Capacité à travailler de manière autonome, bon sens de l’organisation, dynamisme et créativité.
