Senior Analyst, Operational Risk Management

Description
Group Operational Risk Management (ORM) builds foundational programs that support the management of operational risk in a consistent manner across the enterprise. We are a global function supporting business units in North America, Asia, and Europe. Information generated by our programs is used to make critical business decisions and allows the Board Risk Committee to effectively oversee risk taking activities within Manulife.
Key Responsibilities
The incumbent’s role will be to deliver ongoing reporting and analysis in support of the global operational risk management program. This includes preparation of ongoing established reports and ad-hoc requests for delivery to the Company’s Chief Risk Officer, executive and Board risk committees. The incumbent will work primarily with Group Risk Management and other functions across the Company.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual ORM related reporting for the Company’s Chief Risk Officer, executive, and Board risk committees.
Supporting the data management and delivery of reports, memos, presentations, information packages to comply with regulatory and rating agency requirements.
Driving process enhancements for collecting and analyzing ORM data across the enterprise.
Support report transformation and BI enablement of our ORM programs by partnering with programs leads.
Provide Archer(Risk System) Program Support, including assisting with the Archer system initiatives (e.g. data analysis, data clean-up, validation, creating and maintenance of reports and dashboards)
Identifying opportunities for creating efficiencies within ORM reporting framework and processes.
Assist in testing, cleaning, and preparing data for reporting readiness.
Assist in the generation of reports and ensuring accuracy in the metrics being reported.
Assist with documenting processes, procedures, project work and ad hoc request as required.
Qualifications
Broad knowledge of financial services/insurance business and functions.
Strong management reporting experience with attention to detail, executing with high precision under very tight deadlines.
Strong data, computer, and analytical skills particularly PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Archer, and Powerbase
Skilled at dashboard design with a consideration of UI/UX fundamentals
Experience in working with database schemas, data modeling, visualization and ETL processes.
Advanced Excel functions such as pivot tables, charts, v-lookup, conditional formatting, and logic statements.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
Highly organized individual with strong time management and organizational skills.
Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
Excellent collaborative and relationship building skills; showing tact and diplomacy in dealing with others.
Ability to learn quickly and be comfortable with adjusting to ad-hoc changes in workflow.

The annual base salary for this role is listed below.

Salary range is expected to be between
$68,775.00 CAD – $114,625.00 CAD
