Mazars is looking for an individual to join its Energy, Infrastructure & Environment – Valuations team. In relation to infrastructure and energy valuations, the team has delivered reports on more than USD 20 billion of debt and equity investments across the world in the past 12 months. The team’s experience spans more than 40 sub-sectors and 25 countries working for some of the largest asset managers and investment funds in the world.
Our Mazars Energy, Infrastructure & Environment practice is trusted by the world’s leading investors and developers in this asset class to deliver valuations, as well as training, financial modelling, due diligence, transaction support, and asset management services. The group has more than 120 highly experienced infrastructure finance professionals, servicing clients around the world, from regional hubs in London, New York, Toronto, Sydney and Delhi. Professional responsibilities:
The candidate will have the experience, knowledge and confidence required to support in the delivery of valuation reports focusing on infrastructure and energy assets.
Take the day to day role supporting all aspects of valuation assignments, typically with a portfolio of assignments at any one time. This includes:
Carrying out detailed industry, capital markets, and asset-specific research.
Analysing financial information, working with financial models, and drawing conclusions from data.
Presenting analyses in well-written reports and presentations.
Support in the development of client relationships through strong project delivery and business development (e.g., supporting on proposals and client pitches).
Support in the promotion of Mazars’ infrastructure and energy sector knowledge both within the broader valuations team in Mazars and to other relevant parts of Mazars.
Requirements:
At Consultant level:
1 to 2 years’ experience working in either project finance, corporate finance, management consulting, project development, engineering, or infrastructure finance. A track record of working on valuations is preferred.
Bachelor’s (or master’s degree) in Finance, Engineering, Accounting, Commerce/Business, Economics, or closely related field with emphasis on quantitative skills.
A Chartered Business Valuator (CBV) designation, or commitment to work towards the designation is considered a plus.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including report writing experience.
Ability to interpret a financial model in the infrastructure and energy sectors.
Knowledge of valuation concepts, with a relevant qualification being desirable but not essential.
Strong organization, numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint), as well as experience with Capital IQ and/or Bloomberg is a plus.
Motivated and hard working in order to meet client deadlines and provide excellent client service.
Passion to learn and be a team player.
At Assistant Manager Level
As per the requirements for the Consultant level above, but with at least 2 years of valuations experience, including significant experience of valuing infrastructure and energy assets
In addition, the successful Assistant Manager candidate should be able demonstrate experience with project management, including:
Track record of building enduring relationships with clients through repeat work.
Confident team player with a proven ability to build constructive professional relationships at all levels.
Detailed understanding of engagement and risk processes used in an accountancy firm context, and experience of applying these, is considered a plus.
