The School of Physical and Occupational Therapy is seeking candidatures for a Clinical Coordinator.
Details:
2 days/ week from March to August 2022.
$60.00/hour
Responsibilities are:
Develops and implements the McGill PT Bridging Program clinical curriculum for IEPTs;
Develops course outlines for clinical courses McGill PT Bridging Program;
Conducts clinical site visits to recruit clinics and clinical supervisors serving minorities in the greater Montreal area and the rural and remote communities of the province of Quebec and Ontario;
Prepares the agreement, or memorandum of understanding with each clinical site with the assistance of the support staff;
Develops new PT collaborations and partnerships with private and public clinics in the greater Montreal area and the rural and remote communities of the province of Quebec and Ontario;
Ensures McGill PT Bridging Program has multiple private and public clinical partnerships established to enable a broad range of student clinical education experience;
Establishes policies and procedures for communication between the program and clinical placement sites;
Communicates with all sites on a regular basis to provide information about policies and procedures, the curriculum, and information pertaining to student education and supervision:
Documenting outcomes of communication between the program and clinical sites.
Preparing materials for orienting and training preceptors (supervisors)
Providing an orientation process to ensure that new preceptors understand the educational principles of the program, the curriculum plan, the tools for student assessment, and the appropriate methods to provide educational experiences.
Providing information to clinical preceptors related to implicit bias, policies for responding to acts of discrimination, and resources for assisting students (Well Office).
Establishes partnerships to provide educational opportunities to preceptors and clinical sites regarding, but not only, intersecting systems of inequity, justice-driven anti-oppression practices (including anti-racism practices). For example, seek speakers who can present at the Annual Clinical an Academic Community Forum Day on topics of EDI;
Plans, organizing and delivering educational workshops curriculum for clinical supervisor;
Plans and Organizing Annual Clinical an Academic Community Forum Day;
Reports any incident related to clinical placements to the Program Director;
Develops processes to assess the quality of student clinical experiences;
Develops processes used to assess each student’s achievement of the learning objectives of the clinical experience (via an electronic portfolio);
Establishes policies and procedures with the clinical preceptors to assure that students receive guidance and regular formal and informal assessment of their clinical performance;
Matches students to clinical sites based on students’ preferences and needs;
Assessing the overall performance of the students and grading the Assessment of Clinical Performance (ACP);
Meets with each McGill PT Bridging Program student post clinical placement to identify student’s needs for next placement.
Meets with the McGill PT Bridging Program Co-Directors as needed;
Attends meetings, working groups, and committees of the McGill PT Bridging Program;
Writes evaluation reports and recommendations, memos, and summaries for use by policy and decision makers of the McGill PT Bridging Program;
Contributes to the McGill PT Bridging Program’s strategic direction and priorities, work policies, systems, methods, procedures, standards, techniques, and planning and reporting documents;
