Mental Health Society of Greater Victoria Looking for Volunteer Graphic Designers at Remote Full Time

The Mental Health Society of Greater Victoria is seeking (2) two volunteer graphic designers for our social media team! As an organization, our mission is to improve mental health in Victoria by contributing to relevant education and improving access to local support services. Social media is one important aspect of how we connect with our community. We need volunteers who can contribute to our social media presence and stay on brand!

We are a 100% volunteer organization that adapts to our volunteers’ availability. All tasks for this position will be performed remotely on a flexible schedule. However, we host online meetings every two weeks for our social media team and one additional meeting every month for all our volunteers. Currently, these meetings take place over Google Meet. On top of meetings, volunteers are expected to work remotely to complete their assigned tasks by the given deadline.

As a graphic designer, you will work with our team to design and improve our media presence. This includes our social media posts, videos, logos, and graphics. The ideal candidate will have the following skills:

Required Skills:

• Keen eye for details and design
• Experience with Canva and/or graphic design software
• Ability to be consistent with branding and colour schemes
• Able to design visuals for our Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and website
• Passionate about mental health
• Able to incorporate our logo into designs
• Ideally be based in Victoria or Vancouver BC. Will consider applicants across Canada, but not outside of the country due to timezones for meetings.

Bonus Skills:

• Previous experience using Slack
• Experience with planning and updating brands
• Photography and/or Video editing experience
