Location: Strathroy, ON.

Purpose
Reporting to the Engineering Manager at our Corporate Office, the incumbent will be an established engineering professional with a proven track record in technology and process development and solid knowledge of magnesium and aluminum high pressure die casting. This position is in Strathroy, ON but will require travel to our divisions in Michigan and Mexico. Responsibilities also include establishing and managing high level research and development projects that are aligned to our short term and long-term business growth strategies. Other duties will include technical support for business development initiatives contributing to Meridian’s Global Technology Organization.
Responsibilities
· Lead technology and process development activities in Magnesium Products of America (MPA) to support business growth strategy in production efficiency improvement and cost reduction.
· Support technology and process development activities in Meridian Technologies Mexico (MTM) to support business growth strategy in production efficiency improvement and cost reduction.
· Project management of research and development initiatives to be undertaken by Meridian Global Technology Center.
· Provide engineering expertise and technical know-how, develop new technologies and ensure a consistent application of product practices on daily operations.
· Provide technical guidance and leadership to Meridian colleagues.
· Work collaboratively with plants/design groups to transfer core technologies and best practices.
· Ability to travel internationally (primarily Canada and Mexico) for up to 35%.
· Participate in continuous improvement projects.
· Support technical reviews and meetings with customers.
· Participate as a team member in broad engineering assignments.
· Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
