Talent Acquisition Specialist*

This role will provide full cycle recruitment leadership to managers across Canada. The ideal candidate will have three to five years of experience in a full cycle in-house or agency recruitment environment, can build and maintain trusted relationships with all levels of the organization and is confident making recommendations to support a positive candidate experience. RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead an inclusive recruitment process by driving diverse and inclusive talent strategies, connecting with, interviewing and hiring a diverse set of individuals by understanding and recognizing the value of different backgrounds and opinions
• Conduct a fair and respectful selection process aligned with Mitacs’s values and policies; ensuring a positive experience for all external and internal parties involved
• Partner with hiring managers and provide full cycle recruitment, including job advertising, candidate screening, interview coordination, reference checks, and offer presentation
• Support, troubleshoot, and provide recommendations on filling positions
• Source and screen candidates by using a variety of innovative techniques, including social networking, direct sourcing and employee referrals
• Generate a talent pipeline by advancing Mitacs’s employer brand to address future business needs
• Manage 15-30 open recruiting opportunities across Canada with professionalism, tact, and outstanding customer service
• Provide guidance to managers and employees on recruitment best practices
• Deliver on established key metrics to ensure talent acquisition goals are met

• Contribute to the ongoing evolution of our talent acquisition strategy, always striving for continuous improvement and positioning Mitacs as an employer of choice

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Fluent in English, written and verbal
• Relevant education and three to five years’ work experience demonstrating progression and proven success in strategic recruitment
• Proficient in sourcing techniques including direct sourcing, social media know-how, negotiation skills, and networking in recruitment circles
• Demonstrated skills with diverse and inclusive hiring
• Engaging and influential communication style with a focus on relationship building and providing a high-quality candidate and internal customer experience
• Embraces an ever-changing environment with innovation and a positive attitude
• Ability to work well under pressure and remain focused during high-volume recruiting periods
• Ability to learn and adapt quickly to changing business needs and shifting priorities
• Proactive and self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency
• High attention to detail and accuracy along with strong organizational and time management skills
• Professional certification in recruitment or HR is considered an asset
• Fluency in French, written and verbal is considered an asset
