Make an impact with our Accounting team as an Accountant. This diverse team of professionals are committed to delivering firm-wide financial solutions with expertise and precision. Responsibilities

• Support with the preparation and distribution of accurate and timely financial statements on a monthly basis in accordance with Firm standards
• Analyze financial results, identifying areas of concern and/or opportunities for improvement
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts, complete with supporting documentation
• Respond to statement and general ledger queries from the Executive group, Partners, Finance and regions across Canada
• Review income statement and prepare variance analyses
• Monitor and maintain the accuracy of inter-company accounts
• Calculate and post allocations
• Prepare, post and ensure the accuracy of journal entries
• Maintain the fixed asset subledger and reconciliations to general ledger
• Coordinate with the real estate team for updates on status of assets under construction for capitalisation and provide accounting support and guidance as needed
• Coordinate with various teams across the Firm on fixed asset disposal and accounting for same
• Prepare schedules for tax filings for review by Firm Tax team and respond to queries
• Maintain good standing relationships with Partners and office administration
• Provide guidance on expense coding and accounting policies and procedures
• Complete other ad hoc duties and projects as required
• Contribute to the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processes including systems improvements
• Develop a thorough understanding of MNP’s services, businesses and industry

Skills and Experience

• Five (5) years of related accounting experience especially in preparation of financial statements, variance analyses and analysis of financial data and reconciliations
• Completion of a professional accounting designation (CPA, CA or CPA, CMA or CPA, CGA)
• Strong computer literacy including intermediate to advanced level Excel (including pivot tables and Vlookups) and effective working skills of Microsoft Word
• Knowledge of Unit 4 Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), formerly Agresso is an asset
• Proven mathematical and analytical skills
• Experience working in a professional services environment considered an asset
• Fluency in both French considered an asset
