Learning and Development Specialist
We are hiring for a newly created role, Learning and Development Specialist reporting into the Director, People and Organization Development as part of Human Resources.
The Learning and Development Specialist plays a key role in the ongoing management, administration and support of all activity related to Cornerstone On demand, Learning Management System (LMS) within the Working at Mohawk platform where these events are centralized. They are also responsible for the governance and or consultation related to the delivery of learning and development events supported by the system which includes an intake process reviewing; formal or informal needs assessments, learning outcomes, design, ideal format, delivery modality for content, pre and post work requirements, custom evaluations and reporting needs.This position is also responsible for the annual learning events calendar as well as the marketing, promotion, communication, registration management, analysis and report writing of identified events on the system.As a member of Human Resources and working within the Organizational Development team, this position reports to the Director, People and Organization Development. This role will collaborate with others within the team, within the HR or greater management team, IT, internal or external clients to identify training that aligns with legislative requirements, strategic priorities and or skills enhancement.
Specifically related to the LMS this role would be responsible for governance, configuration, testing, maintenance, creating a roadmap, identifying and upholding a greater user experience, troubleshooting with inter-related systems and or externally developed content for system compatibility. Uploading events, assign training, populate course information, documents or materials into curriculums, transcript management to ensure employee transcripts are current and reflective of training taking place both internally and externally. Responsible for data reporting and analytics with related to learning data and trends, making recommendations for optimal user adoption. Consulting with both internal and external clients who are using the system for events/training/registration, this role would provide training related to the LMS to super-users, templates, user guides or outlines related to our accessibility or inclusive practices. Support instructional designers to ensure content can be housed on the LMS and aligns with system governance and practices. Create and or make available certificates or badges for course/program completion. Review and evaluate participants feedback as provided by evaluations through reporting. Work with Talent Systems Specialist to ensure mandatory training and future onboarding training are functional, current and available to eligible employees.
Specifically related to Learning and Development Content, Events Management and Marketing, this role will also be responsible for coordinating identified learning and development events within the College made available to employees in partnership with others both internally and externally to the College. This could include coordinating rooms, equipment, room set up and other logistics.Responsibilities include managing existing and creating new playlists that capitalize on the thousands of online contents housed within the LMS that align with college wide priorities, strategies or identified skilled gaps. Maintain and source out leaders for the Leaders Spotlight on Learning program. Participate in networking opportunities both within the College sector and outside to share relevant and current trends and leading-edge development methods within L&D practices. This position is also responsible for the marketing, promotion and communication of learning events, offerings made available through LinkedIn Learning and Cornerstone Content, or others identified to encourage participation in learning and development or skill building activities for the College. Review CE or other independent courses, such as LinkedIn taken by employees to determine alignment with job expectations and development plans, identify trends where employees are taking course to skill up. Ensure Events calendar is up to date and populated with a variety of learning events. Work with internal partners to ensure a Learning Calendar is available for regular training programs such as Manager Training Curriculum.
