WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
From our headquarters in Burnaby, BC, we are looking for a Logistics Specialist who can hit the ground running. Our ideal candidate will have expert knowledge of shipping and transport routes, and experience with different freight forwarders. CCS or CTCS designation, customs training or equivalent is preferred. If you are passionate about world logistics, and are a detail-oriented team player, then this is the role for you!
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure on time deliveries to all Mustang warehouse locations by coordinating with vendors, carriers, and customs brokers
Follow up with vendors to ensure proper documents are attached to shipments supporting customs clearance and warehouse receiving
Resolve day-to-day carrier, vendor, and supply chain challenges
Support warehouse receiving by tracking incoming global shipments on a weekly basis
Report lost or damaged shipments, and shipments with shortages, and following up with carriers for resolution
Create inbound shipments for Contract Manufacturers
Ensure all import /export customs regulations (domestic and international) are followed
Support in evaluation of carrier performance
Identify issues with carrier performance and provide recommendations for improvements
Maintain and prepare KPIs and reports
Reduce logistics costs by reviewing opportunities to consolidate shipments
Monitor progress of transit routes to ensure the most optimal choice is provided by carrier
Support with rates negotiations
Expediting of shipments
Obtaining air quotes
Support and compile data and documents for duty recovery with Customs & Trade Compliance department
Support international shipments of inventory and non-inventory items
Support with maintaining product and material customs and compliance data as needed
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in related field
2-3 years if experience in logistics and supply chain analytics
CCS or CTCS designation, customs training, or equivalent preferred
Knowledge of trade agreements impacting shipments into Canada, USA, and other international location
Experience with building KPIs for performance measurement and reporting
Excellent communication skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
Experience with ERP system, preferably Netsuite
