The Accounting, Financial Markets and Treasury team is currently seeking a senior analyst for its transactional accounting activities. Our team’s mandate consists of checking the end-to-end accuracy of transactional financial information reported on the financial statements. Transactional information is, in a sense, the driving force of this chain! You will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment comprising collaboration tools that provide flexibility for working remotely!
This position reports to the Senior Manager – Accounting, Transaction Systems.
What will your day-to-day tasks be?
Analyze and interpret financial data, explain discrepancies, and ensure corrections are made
Coordinate the phases for implementing work systems, tools and processes and ensure follow up
Maintain partnerships with various internal and external stakeholders as part of joint projects
Follow up and control accounting, tax and financial operations and make sure they comply with existing policies and procedures
Identify and analyze the needs of stakeholders to contribute to the development of systems, tools, and processes that respond to their needs and facilitate decision-making
Help develop and implement efficient analysis measures, approaches and methods
Specifically, you’ll:
Help reconcile transactional systems with the Midas and SmartStream General Ledgers to validate the integrity and accuracy of financial data
Be responsible for the accounting of financial transactions for financial products and derivatives, analyze discrepancies in the General Ledger, and adjust and document entries
Participate in monthly financial analyses on results and explanations of balance sheet fluctuations
Understand the activities of the portfolios under your responsibility
Support our partners on a daily basis and at month end

Skills required
Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 4 years of relevant experience OR Master’s degree in a related field and 2 years of relevant experience OR University certificate and 6 years of relevant experience
Experience in financial and/or accounting analysis
Knowledge of accounting principles applicable to complex financial instruments
Teamwork and cooperation
Diligence and autonomy
Leadership skills and initiative
Behavioural agility
Preferred skills
CPA accounting designation
Knowledge of the Murex transaction platform
Knowledge of Midas and/or SAP
