The National Diabetes Trust is Canada’s largest charitable clothing and small household good collection service. With more than 5,000 donations bins and an active home pick-up service in communities across Canada (excluding Quebec), we collect unwanted gently used clothing and household items, using them to raise much-needed funds for Diabetes Canada.

Each year, the program diverts more than 100 million pounds of clothing and household items from landfill sites across Canada. About The Part-Time Recruiter Role

Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, the Part-Time Recruiter is a member of the HR team focusing on hiring our top talent, serving as a primary recruiting point of contact for a variety of teams, and will have significant influence and impact over the delivery of recruiting services. This role will devote approximately 80% of time to the recruitment function with the balance focused on specific Recruitment related project work.

• Successfully manage, prioritize and close searches against a timeline.
• Conducts in-depth interviews of potential candidates, demonstrating ability to anticipate hiring manager preferences by maintaining low interview-to-offer ratios.
• Drive sourcing strategy, identify and recommend process improvements, and partner with team members in the execution of these critical components of talent acquisition.

• Forge dynamic relationships with hiring managers and HR Business Partners and possess a strong understanding of Diversity and Inclusion principles.
• Possess strong ability to screen, interview and prepare a diverse candidate slate within an appropriate and consistent timeline.
• Highly organized, an effective communicator, possess the ability to prioritize, and demonstrate a strong sense of urgency , all while being highly client-focused and collaborative.
• Must be able to understand how to recruit candidates at all levels and develop sophisticated closing strategies that seek for matching fit and motivation.
• Recommend ideas and strategies related to recruitment that will contribute to the long-range growth of the company, implementing any new processes and fine tuning standard processes for recruiting that fit within National Diabetes Trust’s mission.
• Conduct references and background checks and following through to final offer stage.
• Tracks talent acquisition metrics and provides data and reports on a regular basis. Monitors and evaluates effectiveness of programs, adjusts as needed.
• Additional HR project work will include, but will not be limited to, sourcing, assigning and administering Management Training through HR Downloads, compliance and workplace policy training, DEI initiatives, and content management of all related NDT job boards (Indeed, Glassdoor, LinkedIn, etc.)
• Other ad hoc projects, as needed.

About You

The selected candidate for this role will meet the following minimum requirements:

• Post-secondary degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business or equivalent in a related field.
• 3 – 5+ years of recruiting experience.
• CHRL or CHRP designation, would be an asset.
• Strong client-focus and commitment to continuous improvement; ability to proactively network and establish effective working relationship.
• Must pursue conscious cost-containment efforts in recruiting, continually seek new sourcing options, and develop creative approaches to delivering candidates to the customer.
• Exceptional communication skills, organizational and negotiation skills, with a keen focus on delivering business results.
• Strong consulting skills and demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
• Research best practice for full life cycle recruitment programs, with a focus on diversity and inclusion.
• Fosters strong candidate relationships in person, via telephone, email, social media, etc. Utilizes new technologies as appropriate.
