NDAX is currently looking to hire someone who can wear a double-hat as Project and HR Manager. Ideal candidate will be expected to work as an HR Manager, anticipated 10 – 12 months in duration for a maternity leave coverage, in addition to assuming project management responsibilities. This role will be mainly responsible for project management after the end of maternity leave coverage.
Key Responsibilities for Project Management
- Manage/direct projects in accordance with project specific requirements using multiple management methodologies (Waterfall and Agile/Scrum)
- Create project plans, monitor overall progress, utilize multidisciplinary teams, initiate corrective action where necessary
- Schedule, plan, and control releases for the development and delivery process
- Hold departments accountable for their commitments, removing roadblocks to their work, leveraging organizational resources to improve capacity for project work
- Provide appropriate solutions and alternatives within the time limits and follow-up to ensure resolution
- Provide high level support to the CEO, as well as senior management team, for event planning such as town hall meetings, industry fairs etc.
Key Responsibilities for HR Function
- Design and update job descriptions
- Prepare and distribute assignments and numerical, language and logical reasoning tests
- Advertise job openings on company’s careers page, social media, job boards and internally
- Interview candidates (via phone, video and in-person)
- Maintain ongoing relationships with employment agencies to ensure the selection of the most qualified candidates
- Send job offer emails and answer queries about compensation and benefits
- Monitor key HR metrics, including turnover, time-to-hire and source of hire
- Participate in job fairs and host in-house recruitment events
- Act as a consultant to new hires and help them onboard
- Manage all onboarding and offboarding process
- Process semi-monthly payroll for employees
- Prepare ad-hoc and regular reports such as HSA/Vacation accruals, headcount by department etc.
- Complete mandatory surveys on a timely manner (Statistic of Canada payroll surveys, D&I surveys etc.)
- Update HR policy and procedures as needed and communicate them with employees
- Manage the employee benefit plan, serve as a main of contact between insurer and employees
- Lead H&S committee and conduct regular H&S inspections at the workplace
- Manage all performance management process from goal setting to development planning, provide guidance for people managers at each step of the process
Requirements
- Proven experience with project management
- Understanding of human resources best practices and current regulations
- Client-focused attitude with a high level of professionalism and discretion
- Ability to handle confidential information
- BSc in HRM, Business Administration or relevant field
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Organized and self-oriented
- Strong analytical and organizational skills, as well as verbal and written communication
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
