Position Summary:
We are looking for a Safety, Health and Environment Analyst based at our Sterling Road Factory reporting into the SH&E Manager. This role will be responsible for the on-going development and enhancement of the plant’s Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental program. This involves providing technical support, training, implementation, and maintenance of the programs to and for all employees and visitors in line with Nestle Continuous Excellence mindset of zero injuries and illnesses.
A day in the life of a Safety, Health, & Environment Analyst…
Providing technical expertise and support for implementing and maintaining HSE programs/systems throughout Company
Supporting adherence to all company health, safety and environmental standards, policies and procedures while maintaining on-going knowledge of local, provincial, and federal guidelines
Seeks continuous improvement to safety programs by assisting in monthly departmental safety inspections, periodic and annual audits, and the implementation of subsequent action plans
Responsible for the coordination of the new hire safety orientation, delivering internal training to hourly and salaried employees and facilitating external training with training providers for safety related topics
Aiding the Team Leaders in incident investigations, identifying root causes, reporting, documentation, and follow-up, and ensures corrective actions are closed in a timely manner
Providing support by having a visible presence on the production floor, promoting safety promotion plans, goals, objectives, measurements; and fosters good staff relationships in order to gain commitment from all employees
Supporting a safe work environment by maintaining OHS administrative processes, conducting basic OHS training and effectively using a range of OHS tools and processes to implement OHS programs and drive compliance

What will make you successful?
Completion of a University degree or college diploma in Occupational Health and Safety
Minimum of 1-2 years work experience required in a safety role
Strong understanding and application of the OH&S Act and Regulations
Demonstrated experience in conducting workplace investigations and root cause analysis is required
Strong time management, planning and organizational skills to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
Excellent communication, report-writing, and presentation skills; critical thinking, problem-solving and negotiation skills
Strong analytical skills and MS-office experience
Ability to develop relationships throughout the organization
Demonstrates individual leadership, innovative and willingness to learn
Flexible to work different shifts as required
