NYIT Vancouver:
Located in Vancouver, this position is part of the Campus team directly responsible for application processing and admissions to different master degree programs.
Department:
As a key member of the enrolment management team, this position works with the enrolment management teams in New York and Vancouver to process applications and conduct preliminary admissions.
Role and Responsibilities
This position works with and reports directly to Senior Director of Enrollment Services and Marketing and Admissions Assistants at NYIT Vancouver campus to support the assessment, processing and acceptance of applications of primarily international graduate applicants. Major job descriptions are:
· Managing day-to-day activities related to application processing and admissions activities in accurate and timely manner.
· With help from Admissions Assistant, reviewing new applications for their completeness and
– determining preliminary admissibility
· With help from Admissions Assistants, communicating with applicants regarding incomplete applications and collecting missing documents.
· Corresponding with agents/applicants about admission status as required.
· Determining admissibility and forwarding complete files to programs heads at Vancouver campus for approval.
· Consulting with the Senior Director of the department whenever facing complex admissions cases.
· Consulting with Programs Heads whenever facing complicated admissions issues.
· Supervising Admissions Assistants on a daily basis and assisting in correspondences and other admissions activities.
· Working closely with the Senior Director of department regarding enrollment projections.
· Working closely with the Global Admissions office in NY to ensure applications are admitted in a timely manner.
· Making sure acceptance letters are sent to students/agents in a timely manner.
· Providing necessary support to the Senior Director as needed.
Qualifications and Education Requirements :
The Admissions Manager is a person who has experience with application processing of international applicants and admissions. Previous task management experience necessary. Excellent interpersonal and communication skill required. Advanced computer skills needed. Strong organization skills, detail oriented and must be able to multi-task and prioritize. Must have at least 2-year’s experience in foreign credential evaluation. Some nights and weekend work may be required and light travel in the GVRD.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications Ideal skills and certification would include:
· Bachelor’s degree required master degree preferred · Familiarity with enrolment management software, such as SLATE and People Soft is preferred.
