Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the Human Resources Superintendent supervises the site-based Human Resources Business Partners while providing them with leadership, coaching, mentoring, and deliberate development opportunities for their career growth while ensuring HR initiatives and deliverables are aligned with the site, regional and global strategy maps
Purpose
As a key influencer at the mine sites in the Timmins camp, the Human Resources Superintendent will use strong project and people management skills to accomplish and build on the following:
Champion Inclusion and Diversity initiatives at the mine sites in partnership with the regional and site leadership team. Inclusion and Diversity is mission-critical to the success of Porcupine Gold Mines and your contribution to these initiatives is key to success
As part of the site leadership team, support the implementation of the new HR operating model and key regional-led projects to improve HR processes and procedures at the Dome, Hoyle and Borden mine sites. As you do so, you will quickly learn that Newmont values operational excellence and continuous improvement
Lead, coach, and mentor our site-based HR Business Partners as we embark on a journey to improve our site-led people management program standards at the mine sites
Build and maintain relationships of trust with the union executive team and their members to foster high quality union relations as we respect the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA)
Essential Duties
Collaborate in the development, implementation and updating of the organization’s human resources policies, procedures, and systems
Support the region and site the with the administration of all human resources programs at the mine sites
Support workforce planning at the mine sites
Advise and support supervision with the interpretation and administration of the organization’s HR policies and procedures
Advise and support supervision with labour relations as well as employee relations challenges
Champion and promote the company’s vision, values, and objectives
Manage the personnel, evaluate performance, and see to employee development in your sector
Partner closely with other regional and site-based teams and departments, such as Operations, Finance, Technical Services etc.
Ensuring compliance to the CBA and providing the necessary support while resolving labour relations concerns
Participate in the collective bargaining process
Manage the hourly employee internal job posting process
Assist with performance improvement plans, providing guidance to supervisors using the employee performance management process
Participate in return to work, modified work and the accommodation processes and ensure compliance to their standards

Training & Experience
University degree in human resources or combination of relevant education and experience
Minimum five (5) to seven (7) years’ experience in a HR supervision role, ideally in the mining or heavy industrial industries
Minimum three (3) years’ experience as a HR leader/supervisor in a unionized environment
Demonstrated experience leading HR projects at a site level
Demonstrated experience implementing and executing HR programs and policies at a site level
Working Conditions
This position is located in Timmins, ON. If you do not currently reside in the area, relocation is required.
The schedule is 4 days on 3 days off.
