Position Summary:
We are looking for a dedicated Yard Person to join our dynamic team at Nexar Equipment Ltd. The ideal candidate will be responsible for various activities in and around our yard and shop. From operating heavy equipment to maintaining our yard and ensuring efficient organization, you will play a key role in ensuring our operations run smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate equipment around the yard with precision and safety.
- Maintain the yard, which includes tasks such as snow removal.
- Assist with pick-up and deliveries of parts, materials, and tools.
- Undertake general shop maintenance and cleaning.
- Ensure orders are received, stocked, and accounted for in inventory.
- Organize equipment and supplies in the yard and within the shop.
- Fulfill hot shotting responsibilities.
- Clean equipment as required.
- Perform any other tasks and duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Prior experience in Heavy Equipment operation.
- Valid Driver’s license; Class 1 preferred.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Computer skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated organizational abilities and a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to adapt to the shifting demands of a dynamic workplace.
- Capacity to work in a demanding, fast-paced environment.
- Prioritization, time management, and multitasking skills.
- A positive and collaborative approach towards work.
- A high level of initiative with the ability to work independently as well as in a team.
Working Conditions:
- This role is primarily based in the shop and yard, so candidates should be prepared for the physical demands this entails.
