About the Role
NFP’s Life and Wealth Management Division includes the key services of life insurance: living benefits, long term care coverage and wealth management We’re looking for a Client Service Associate to support the needs of our Life & Wealth Management division. They will be responsible for efficiently processing individual life applications inclusive of new business and existing policies, as well as maintaining regular contact with carriers and vendors. This role also includes client service-related functions including policy changes and ongoing stakeholder management between the advisor, carrier, and clients.
What You’ll be Doing
- General Administration: Ensure that client information is accurate, current and filed in the appropriate system (Client file, Sales Force, etc.). Attend meetings as required and document meeting minutes for subsequent review.
- Process applications: Request quotes from NFP’s carrier partners (RBC, Manulife, Canada Life, etc.). Manage the end-to-end application process from proposal to completion ensuring that any concerns/issues are escalated in a timely fashion. Maintain an understanding of carrier products, discounts & deadlines such as the GWL DI Grad Program, RBC Student Initiative, Manulife GAP, etc. Complete, review and submit client applications to carrier partners.
- Client Service & Market Relationship Management: Stay connected to day-to-day New Business operations through active client management and be a lead the team through complex renewals/new business opportunities from end-to-end (submission, marketing, proposal, binding, invoicing, etc.). Effectively maximize relationships with carriers and service providers.
- Client Service: Be an ongoing liaison between the client, broker & insurance carrier (Underwriter or Case Coordinator) via telephone, email & mail and ensure of all files/calls & correspondences between 3rd parties are filed accurately in client file
What You Bring
- Typically, 2+ years of experience in the administration and servicing of individual insurance products (Life, disability, etc.), or experience working in medical office administration
- Ability to manage a high-volume workload in a fast-paced & demanding environment
- High tolerance for ambiguity; flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities, deadlines, and technology
- Ability to think critically, problem-solve and dig for solutions below the surface
- Sharp attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication
- Proven experience providing excellent client service where email is the main form of communication
- Sound knowledge of industry trends as well as insurance carrier products and services is a plus (i.e., RBC, Manulife, Canada Life, etc.)
- Basic knowledge of financial underwriting is a plus
