Level 2 Service Desk Technician
Northview Consulting is currently seeking a Level 2 Service Desk Technician to support our operations in Bermuda. Reporting to the Service Desk Manager, the Service Desk Technician will be reliable, be willing to dig in, learn new skills, and contribute to our team’s ongoing success. This is an exciting opportunity to get in at the ground floor, with growth potential for the right candidate. This position will be based out of our office in Dartmouth, NS.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for the RIGHT person, not just any person, to take on a new Level 2 Service Desk Technician position. Our biggest asset is our team, and we are always looking for new members that are committed to their technology craft and have a passion for their job.
Role and Primary Responsibilities:
The right candidate will join an IT support team that loves to work with all our clients and test new technologies. We only use best-in-class business technologies and Enterprise-class remote monitoring and management (RMM) and professional services automation (PSA) tools to manage our client environments 24/7/365 proactively. The primary responsibilities of the position consist of, but are not limited to, the following:
- Handle concerns directed to the Help Desk and track tickets.
- Provide quality customer support for all incoming contacts (via call, chat, email, or web ticket) for IT-related issues or requests.
- Log & categorize all contacts within an incident management (ticketing system) tool and own ticket follow-up: monitor personal ticket queue daily and take appropriate action.
- Identify and escalate urgent / priority incidents as required.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of supported products and services.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Provide technical support for new applications and systems.
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
- Must have a minimum of 2 years of post-secondary education in Network/IT/computers.
- 2-3 Years of Network System Administration experience.
- Consulting experience is a plus
- Experience with Cloud platforms, specifically Microsoft Azure, is a plus.
- Experience with Citrix is a plus.
- Proven experience working with Windows desktops and Apple OS X in a business environment.
- Proven experience working with Microsoft Office 365.
- Ability to install, configure, administer and troubleshoot a wide range of desktop hardware and software.
- Basic understanding of PowerShell
- Experience with installing, configuring, administering, and troubleshooting Windows desktops and Servers
- Experience installing, configuring, administering, and troubleshooting Linux is a plus
- Experience with networking concepts including TCP/IP, OSI model, routing, switching, VLANs, subnetting, super subnetting, and other networking concepts
- Experience with networking hardware including routers, NG firewalls, switches, and VPN appliances
- Experience with an assortment of backup hardware
- Experience with building, mounting, hot spare, RAID 0/1/5/6/10
- Experience with virtualization platforms including VMware and Hyper-V
