We are seeking a Logistics Operations Coordinator – Truck to join our Logistics Operations team to focus on day-to-day management of polyethylene shipment coordination. In this role you will support Customer Experience, Sales, and Inventory Planning functions.
The Logistics function within NOVA Chemicals is an essential piece of the equation to deliver an exceptional customer experience. Working through customer planned orders you will ensure the right product and transportation providers are aligned to ensure reliable supply to our customers.
This position can be located in either Calgary, Alberta; Red Deer, Alberta; Sarnia, Ontario; or Moon Township, Pennsylvania.
You Will Use Your Expertise To:
Monitor and schedule customer orders and respond to order process requirements
Coordinate customer order interventions with the Customer Experience Team
Update the packaging schedule daily, monitoring orders, inventory and forecast to determine requirements
Investigate and help explore resolution for Supply Chain service level customer complaints
Interact with other areas of the business including Customer Service, Operations (production, packaging, and loading), Inventory Planning, and others
Provide coaching and guidance to assist other logistics team members and suppliers to manage and improve processes
Establish and maintain effective relationships with vendors and other partners
Maintain data, conduct analysis, and report to key stakeholders regarding Logistics KPI’s
Ensure carriers have capacity to manage demand
Prepare shipping documentation in SAP, and manage shipment tenders in our Logistics Management System
Schedule routine and non-routine shipments, providing reliable on time delivery, which includes tracking and expediting shipments
Resolve carrier performance issues and communicate their resolution to key stakeholders
Coordinate packaging and loading schedules at off-site facilities
Coordinate with Corporate Logistics regarding carrier requirements
Determine monthly forecast and requirements for carriers
What We Are Looking For:
University graduate with 5-7 years of related experience OR 10+ years of combination of post-secondary education and related experience in a supply chain function and continued professional development
Ability to function efficiently and independently in a team environment
APICS, CITT or PLog certification
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
Self-starter with a positive attitude and a strong desire to learn
Ability to manage changing priorities in a high energy, sometimes demanding work environment
Intermediate computer skills (demonstrated ability to work with MS Office and SAP)
Flexible daily work hours to accommodate various time zones
Ability and willingness to learn other roles within Supply Chain network

Additional Information:
Relocation will be considered to the nearest geographical NOVA Chemicals’ location for this position
Compensation will be commensurate with education and experience
This role requires up to 0-10% travel
