About This Opportunity
Fall River Family Practice is a collaborative practice with 11 physicians and 2 family practice nurses. We are seeking a family physician to Locum, covering a maternity leave starting in October for a 9-12 months duration. This equates to 3.5 – 4 days in clinic, approximately 900 patients, MedAccess EMR. Hours could be flexible if looking for fewer. For more information, contact vanessa.slayter@dal.ca if interested.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Examine patients and take their histories, order diagnostic tests and laboratory procedures; advise patients on health care, health promotion, and disease prevention
Consultation and referral to other medical practitioners’
Act as a patient’s advocate
Prescribe and administer medications and treatments, inoculations and vaccinations
Report births, deaths, contagious and other diseases as per Nova Scotia Public Health requirements

Qualifications
Eligible for Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
Eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)
Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
