Responsibilities
Reporting to the Lab Manager, the Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) is responsible for performing Laboratory procedures following established methodology. In addition, the MLT may be required to work at associated phlebotomy clinics and/or other sites in South Western Nova Scotia, and be readily available for on call duty.
The duties of the MLT will be carried out in accordance with the principles and practices that guide Nova Scotia Health Authority.
Qualifications
- Licensed with NSCMLT and currently registered with CSMLS
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to work as a member of the Laboratory team
- Ability to use initiative and work with minimal supervision
- Demonstrate a commitment to personal development
- Must possess coping skills conducive to a busy Laboratory
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
- Successful Applicants are required to provide a criminal record check (including Vulnerable Sector Search) to People Services before starting employment and assume any associated costs as a condition of employment
Hours of Work
- Long Assignment Full Time Position; 75 hours bi-weekly
- Beginning as soon as possible for approximately 24 months
- These are anticipated dates and may be subject to change
- Shifts may include evenings, nights, weekends & holidays
Salary Information
$29.79 – $36.27 hourly
