Nuvei Looking for Finance / Tax Intern at Remote Full Time

This role will assist the Head of Global Taxation in managing the Tax Function of a global company. Tax is a necessary component of every business and inherently requires a multi-disciplinary understanding of financial & management accounting, finance, business law and taxation. As Nuvei operates in 24 countries, including all 50 US states and DC, the Tax Function has a broad global scope, and works with all business units and with most functional departments within Nuvei.

Main Duties / Responsibilities

As a Finance/Tax Intern, you will gain:
The practical, hands-on skills that are necessary to administer the Tax Function at a global company.

Experience managing a corporation’s tax compliance in both Canada and the US.

Exposure to global intercompany accounting processes, accounting information systems and financial records.

An enhanced ability to use Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint.

A better theoretical understanding of the fields of accounting and taxation.

Qualifications (Skills/Experience)

This role will be a great learning experience for a third- or fourth-year business student who is majoring in Accounting (preferred) or Finance.

The successful candidate will:
Be detail-oriented and organized.

Be tech-savvy and comfortable with Microsoft Office applications.

Have a strong affinity for numbers and problem-solving.

Have coursework in financial accounting (required).

Additional coursework in taxation, finance and/or business law would be an asset.

Strong communication in English. Knowledge of French is a plus.

Working Language

English (written and spoken) is the language used 99% of the time, as work colleagues and clientele are both geographically dispersed within and outside of Quebec.

Internal communications between colleagues occurs in English or in French, depending on the parties involved. Strategic suppliers are located outside of Quebec.

knowledge of French is required for any position located within Quebec. English is required for this position, as it could report to someone outside of Quebec, and requires frequent out of province communications.
