The opportunity
Our finance team is evolving to meet the needs of our growing business and we are seeking a Manager, Structured Finance who has the proven skills, competencies and experience to develop and execute TC Energy’s structured finance activities with a focus on project and entity specific financing initiatives.
What you’ll do
Collaborate with business units and corporate development to establish approaches to financing new and existing assets in a manner consistent with TC Energy’s growth and finance strategy
Lead entity and project finance initiatives
Interface and lead financing analysis with various functional areas including evaluations, treasury, finance law, accounting, tax, corporate planning, commercial, corporate development and regulatory
Execute bank and capital market debt finance transactions
Develop and maintain investment and commercial banking relationships
Prepare finance related Board of Directors materials as well as presentations and analyses for credit rating agencies, bondholders, investor meetings, banking syndicate and other lenders
Other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Undergraduate degree in math, finance, engineering, commerce or economics
15+ years related and progressive industry/business experience is required
Strong knowledge of capital markets, energy infrastructure commercial constructs and understanding of alternative financing approaches
Ability to anticipate and proactively resolve issues
High propensity to strive in a high stress deadline driven environment
Passion for project financial markets
A thorough understanding of the fundamental principles of economic and financial analysis and accounting
Ability to work effectively under time constraints and manage multiple priorities/expectations
Advanced interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to maintain collaborative working relationships with external stakeholders and across functional groups within the Company
Strong business aptitude and quantitative skills plus the ability to be innovative and capable of critical analysis and problem solving
Keen attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
An MBA, CFA, CBV, PEng and/or professional accounting designation is an asset
Leading a team of professionals is an asset
Capital markets experience
Experience negotiating and structuring JV partner/project finance arrangements as well as interpreting commercial/financial legal agreements
A general understanding of the pipeline and energy infrastructure business along with specific knowledge of TC Energy’s operations
