Oakdale Child and Family Service Looking for Residential Counselor at Stouffville, ON Full Time

Full-time Responsibilities include:

• To work as part of a team in a residential program
• Supervision and monitoring of clients
• Teach Functional living skills
• Behaviour Management
• Assist clients with daily routines and personal care
• Plan/ Implement individualized programs that encompass a person-centred approach
• Provide community orienteering and leisure activity
• Conduct appointments
• Administer medication
• Data collection and documentation
• Shared responsibility for cooking/ household tasks
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records
• Participate in all scheduled staff training programs
• Hours of work are based on a schedule that includes weekends and evenings

Qualifications/Experience:

• Post-secondary certificate in DSW, CYW, SSW, or equivalent and/or related University degree/ experience
• Knowledge and experience in Mental Health, Autism Spectrum Disorders, and Developmental Challenges
• Good team building skills
• Good interactive/ communication skills (verbal and written)
• Good organization and time management skills
• Driver’s License an asset
